My name is Eric, I am a history student with an interest in Slavic studies.  In my line of work I am required to think and write a great deal.  Although I am good at the thinking part, putting thoughts into text is difficult.  So I am putting this thing up here to transfer as many thoughts as I can into text in hopes that my writing will get better over time.  In addition I also do a little doodling, a habit I picked up from sitting in lectures all day.  So I started a crude comic that will hopefully be updated often.  It is about a guy who gets a new room mate.

This new room mates name is Leon Trotsky, a Communist revolutionary active in early 20th century Russia.  Second in command to Lenin, Trotsky was an intellectual, a Marxist theorist, and political philosopher.  A key adviser and participant in the Russian Soviet Revolution, Trotsky would end up fleeing the country not long after Lenin’s death and Stalin’s takeover.  The two had conflicting views on the governing of the Soviet state.  Trotsky was a much more orthidox Bolshevik, while Stalin was the hardheaded tyrant seeking to forge his own dynasty.  After fleeing the Soviet Union, Trotsky continued to speak his ideas and forged his own Communist ideology up until his assassination in 1940.

My kind of humor is rarely funny to anyone but me , but thats the way I like it.  I’ve gotten comments that some of my jokes require too much thought on the readers end.  I’m cool with that.
